GPS for Locating Resources
Finding water without fail
In the wake of crisis, access to clean water can mean the difference between life and death. In places such as Ethiopia, the IRC uses satellite-aided global positioning system (GPS) devices to pinpoint the best place to dig a well. A GPS device can help a recovering community ensure that homes, schools and medical centers are rebuilt near clean water sources—and free women and children from the burden of walking great distances to fetch water.
Why they’ll love a Rescue Gift
“ I like being able to donate in my parents' name for birthdays, Christmas, Mother's and Father's Day. And they like knowing their gifts mean something.”
