Community Cash Box
Springboard for a small business
Women in rural villages often dream of running a small business, but they lack the capital to turn those dreams into reality. In places like Uganda, we help village women organize savings and loan associations, where they can pool together their household earnings in a strong box and take turns withdrawing micro-loans. After launching a small grocery store, tailor shop or other business they then repay their loans, filling the box with funds for another woman’s business plan.
Why they’ll Love a Rescue Gift
“Educating girls in underdeveloped countries is really important to both my mother and me, so I gave my mom a Rescue Gift. She said it was the best gift she’d ever gotten.”
