A Community Garden
Planting seeds, growing roots
What better way to connect people to a new land than through the soil itself? Our New Roots program helps recently resettled refugees in the United States to grow and sell crops through community gardening. We provide the plots and planting materials. They bring the agricultural knowledge from their homelands. The result: fresh food, extra income and a shared sense of community pride. Simple seeds, tools and gardening supplies can help a refugee family reap a bountiful harvest in a new land.
Why they’ll Love a Rescue Gift
“Educating girls in underdeveloped countries is really important to both my mother and me, so I gave my mom a Rescue Gift. She said it was the best gift she’d ever gotten.”
