Refugee Farmer Market Kit
Self-sufficiency for refugees
By growing and selling produce at local farmers markets, refugees can put fresh food on the table and set down roots in their community. The IRC’s New Roots program helps hundreds of refugees resettling in the United States become involved, engaged and productive members of their new communities through community gardening. $135 can provide a table, chalkboard, wooden boxes and baskets to help a refugee farmer set up a stall at a farmers market, earning extra income while celebrating their agricultural heritage.
Why they’ll Love a Rescue Gift
“Educating girls in underdeveloped countries is really important to both my mother and me, so I gave my mom a Rescue Gift. She said it was the best gift she’d ever gotten.”
