Seeds for Four Seasons
$80 can enable a refugee farmer to grow herbs, vegetables and fruit. The IRC's New Roots program helps hundreds of refugees in the United States to rebuild their lives by working the land in community gardens. Many of these refugees were farmers in their home countries and New Roots is a way for them to celebrate their heritage while nourishing themselves and their new neighbors. Across America, New Roots farmers are moving toward economic independence by selling their fresh produce at local farmers markets.
