Debris left in the aftermath of disasters like the recent typhoon in the Philippines can litter the landscape of towns and cities, blocking roads and hindering recovery efforts. In the weeks after Haiti’s devastating quake in 2010, we provided high-quality tools so that survivors could participate in our “cash for work” programs, which pay workers a fair daily wage to start rehabilitating their hometowns.
