FAQs

1. Can I contact the girl I helped? I want to sponsor that girl?

As our website states, Rescue Gifts are symbolic and represent many of the programs, projects and tools that compose the IRC's work every day around the world. This gift is symbolic of our education work with girls in places like Syria, Lebanon and the Congo.

By purchasing a Rescue Gift, you are allowing the IRC to deliver comprehensive and critical support to refugees and vulnerable families worldwide. Your gift will be used when and where it is most needed. And when combined with those of other donors, your Rescue Gift becomes a powerful means to survival, recovery, and the restoration of dignity for those in need of education, medical care, livelihood support and other critical services. If you would like, you can also learn about our child education programs below. In 2017, the IRC provided 1.14 million children with schooling and education opportunities. If you would like to restrict your donation only to specific countries or to child education, please contact Shamini Sathiyaruban, the IRC’s donor services manager at 917-332-0800. She will be happy to assist you.

2. When will I receive my card?

Please refer to our website at gifts.rescue.org for information about the printed card deadline. If you ordered a Rescue Gift printed card after the listed date, it may not arrive in time for the holiday.

3. How do I make changes to the eCard I ordered?

If you would like to make any changes to the eCard that you ordered, please contact Shamini Sathiyaruban, the IRC’s donor services manager at gifts@rescue.org. She will be happy to assist you.

4. My recipient or I didn’t receive the eCard yet? When should I expect to see the eCard?

As per your order, we have emailed the eCards. If it does not appear, please make sure to also check yours or the recipient’s SPAM folder as our emails get occasionally diverted there. Gmail users, be sure to check the Promotions folder in your inbox.

5. I am not sure what to do with the cards.

You can honor a friend or loved one with a beautiful printed card or eCard during the holiday season or for a special occasion. On each card, we will share that you have made a donation to the IRC in their name and also share why this symbolic gift matters. You will also have the opportunity to write a personal and heartfelt message to your friend or loved one inside the card. If you would like to solely make a donation and do not want to send or receive cards or if you would like to send a card to your family or friends, please click on the second option on the receipt. Then complete your order according to your preferences. If you would like to make a donation and do not want to send a card, you can simply select the “no card” option on the card type.

6. I keep getting an error message, even after I entered the correct email address. I can’t complete the order because of the error message.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience our website might have caused you. Additional space and any punctuation at the end or front of the email may cause this type of error message. If that does not work, please try to use a different browser to make your donation again. If you are still experiencing this error, please contact Shamini Sathiyaruban, the IRC’s donor services manager at 917-332-0800. She will be happy to assist you over the phone.

7. I’m having problems making the order. The process stopped in the middle and the screen went black. I did not get a confirmation.

Please click on the second option on the receipt that we emailed at the time of the order (How can I confirm that I filled out and sent my cards?) and complete your order with your preferences.

8. I want to make a change to my order, such as my mailing address, email address, personal message or the image if I already completed my card order.

If you are looking to make any changes to your order, please email us at gifts@rescue.org with the order number and the changes that you would like to make or contact us through https://help.rescue.org/contact/donor-services.

9. I received an email from the IRC saying I have not finalized my cards but I already entered everything.

You may not have clicked the “Submit” button on the bottom of the page. Please click on the second option on the receipt that we emailed at the time of the order (How can I confirm that I filled out and sent my cards) and complete your order with your preferences.

10. My recipient lives outside of the U.S. and a printed card option is not available for residents in other countries.

Unfortunately, we do not offer shipping options outside of the United States. This is to help keep our costs down to ensure our Rescue Gifts donations benefit our programs. However, we do offer the option to send a beautiful eCard. We can send it directly to you to print out if you like, or directly to your recipient if you can provide their email address. Please contact us at gifts@rescue.org if you would like to send an eCard.

11. I see multiple charges on my account.

Please email gifts@rescue.org for any refunds and please allow 5-6 business days for the refund to appear on your account.

12. I am unable to make the donation in memory of someone.

Please email gifts@rescue.org with the order number and the recipient’s information, including the address where you want to send a notification card or the email address if you prefer an eCard. Also let us know if you have a personal message to include in the card.

13. I ordered 20 cards, but I only want to receive or send one card stating 20 years of school have been donated.

Please email gifts@rescue.org with the order number and the recipient’s information, including the address to send a notification card or email address if you prefer an eCard. Also let us know if you have a personal message to include in the card.

14. I am an international donor, but your webpage asks for a zip code.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience our website might have caused you. Please try to use a different browser and make this donation again. If you are still experiencing this error please contact Shamini Sathiyaruban, the IRC’s donor services manager at 917-332-0800. She will be happy to assist you and process this donation over the phone.

15. What is inside the newborn baby kits?

As our website states, Rescue Gifts are symbolic and represent many of the programs, projects and tools that compose the IRC's work every day around the world. One of these tools is a newborn baby kit. These kits give moms in places like Zimbabwe with essential items they need to care for their child such as baby soap, Vaseline, towels, booties, clothing, diapers and cotton wool.
