Freedom and opportunity in America

  • About this gift

When refugees come to the United States, we empower them to rebuild their lives. As part of our efforts, we help them to become proud U.S. citizens. Citizenship provides families with the ultimate security and protection. For some refugees, this is the first time they will become a citizen of any country, have the ability to vote, travel without restrictions, have permanent work authorization and reunite with family members. The IRC helps refugees to navigate the complex legal system and provides them with representation on citizenship cases.  A gift of $150 can help one refugee become a U.S. citizen.

  • What others say

Why they'll love a Rescue Gift

The IRC is the gold standard of aid groups working with refugees. I’ve seen it in action in Darfur, Chad, Central African Republic, Greece, Jordan, South Sudan and other places.
